MARTYN TOTT
FREELANCE FILM MAKER AND AUTHOR

INDEPENDENT BOOK and FILM

Despite a reprimand by an English Teacher at school for having 'a little too much imagination' I continued to enjoy writing stories and with the arrival of video cameras in the 80s I began making short films.

I published my first novel in 2009. During the making of the 'teaser trailer' I realised that I wanted to develop my camera techniques and was soon making my own trailers  drama shorts and business films.

Combining my background in sourcing with a passion for creative work I can cut costs as well as a great movie.
MOVIE ADAPTATIONS

At present the promo films are just tasters of how my novels could look on the screen.

I am interested in hearing from feature film makers about adaptations. (Please use contact page).

MEDIA INTERVIEW REQUESTS

I am happy to discuss business projects, my short films, fiction novels, etc.

Everything I wanted to say on the real-life story behind my first fiction novel has been  covered in many articles and documentaries.

The novel 'Six Magic Numbers' is perhaps the closest you can get to experiencing it and is available from Amazon and other net stores.

"I don’t write for them now. I have no interest in what they have to say about anything. I’m interested in whether I like it. I write for me.” - Lou Reed (when asked about critics)

"Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful, that's what matters to me." - Steve Jobs

"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up." - Stephen Hawking
